Who is this course for?

Flight crew and cabin crew looking for initial CRM training or recurrent training, including a change of operator.

Initial training introduces the full CRM programme. Recurrent training revisits the relevant module within the training cycle. Tell the team about your role, previous training and operator requirements so the right course can be confirmed.

Delivery
London Oxford Airport is our primary training location. We can also deliver in-company or at another venue by prior arrangement. CRM is also available through live virtual sessions by arrangement.

Assessment
CRM does not include a closed-book multiple-choice test.
Certificate
Electronic certificate after successful completion and full payment.
Recurrent interval
Confirm the interval required by your operator and role.
Group arrangements
Tell us your group size. We will confirm capacity and any bespoke arrangements; bespoke courses carry a minimum charge equivalent to two delegates.

Detailed syllabus

Initial training covers the introduction and all three modules in eight hours. The four-hour recurrent course covers the introduction and the relevant module in your training cycle. Confirm the module with your operator; we will provide start and finish times in your joining instructions.

Introduction and core principles
  • Human factors in aviation; CRM principles and objectives.
  • Human performance and limitations; threat and error management.
  • Case studies relevant to corporate and commercial operations.
Module 1: managing performance
  • Human error, reliability, prevention and detection.
  • Stress, workload, fatigue, vigilance and medical factors.
  • Safety culture, standard operating procedures and organisational influences.
  • Cabin safety incident and accident reporting.
  • Passenger human factors, crowd control and passenger stress.
Module 2: working as a crew
  • Communication and coordination within the crew and with operational and ground personnel.
  • Decision-making, leadership, cooperation, delegation and team responsibilities.
  • Self-assessment, assertiveness, attitudes and behaviour.
  • Conflict management and cultural differences.
Module 3: awareness and resilience
  • Information processing and individual and shared situational awareness.
  • Resilience, surprise and startle.
  • Automation philosophy, monitoring and intervention.
